Welcome to my STEP e-portfolio. My name is Sarah Thomas, and I am the Technology Coordinator at John Hanson French Immersion School. Here, I teach technology for grades K-8. I am also in charge of morning announcements, and the school yearbook, just to name a few activities. Needless to say, I keep busy, but I love every minute of it!
In my personal life, I am currently pursuing a doctorate degree at George Mason University in the field of International Education. I graduated from Howard University in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Television Production (minor: French), then received my masters from HU in 2007, with a specialization in Elementary Education.
There are three goals that I have for the STEP program this year. They are:
to help educate teachers on the importance of technology integration in the classroom.
to facilitate student learning, by activating their prior technological knowledge, and using it to interest them in the subject matter.AND
to familiarize myself with the latest technology, in order to help me be the best teacher that I possibly can be!
I’m greatly looking forward to accomplishing these goals, as well as many others that I will realize through the path of my journey.
